SIGAP registra quatro novos pedidos de licenças para operar no Brasil

A new ordinance from the Ministry of Treasury, published on Tuesday (17), will prohibit the operation of online betting houses in Brazil without due authorization from October 1st. In this way, the Betting Management System (SIGAP) received new requests.

The ordinance was signed by the Secretary of Prizes and Bets, Regis Dudena.

According to the regulations, “only brands and their respective internet domains indicated to the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets will be able to operate fixed-odd bets nationwide during the adjustment period.”

This adjustment period will be from October 1st to December 31st, 2024, as the regulated market in Brazil will come into force on January 1st, 2025.

SIGAP receives four new accreditation requests

To date, four new license requests have been registered with SIGAP. While groups that expressed interest in the first window (until August 20th) will receive a response from the federal government by the end of November.

The industry’s expectation is that new accreditations will be made in the coming days, considering the new ordinance’s deadline at the end of this month.

Therefore, new orders came from the following companies:

  • BRX Gaming S.A
  • Amplexus Corporation Ltda
  • Nexus International Ltda
  • JBD Comunicação e Tecnologia Ltda

In addition to these four interested parties, GSEMP Comércio e Serviços had requested accreditation on August 26th.

If all brands are approved by the Prizes and Betting Secretariat, the federal government estimates that it will raise more than R$3 billion just through the payment of grants.

This is because each company must pay R$30 million to be able to operate up to three brands in the national territory for five years.
