ICE’s Sustainable Gaming Zone reaches a record €80,000 in donations for responsible gaming

Donors to ICE’s Sustainable Gaming Zone raise a record €80,000 for charities promoting safe gaming.

ICE Barcelona will begin in a progressive and positive way next Monday, January 19th, at 11:00 AM, when it will present the beneficiaries of this year’s charity fund, totaling €80,000, in a ceremony on the Sustainable Gaming Zone stage.

What the responsible gaming zone will feature in the 2026 edition.

The 2026 charity fund, resulting from generous contributions from leading brands such as Zitro, Acordjoc, Cirsa, Flutter, Orenes, Betsson Group, Merkur, Merkur Dosniha, BGaming and Novomatic, brings the total accumulated donations since ICE 2019 to €462,500.

Looking ahead to the 2026 edition of the Responsible Gaming Zone, which will be the largest ever with the participation of 27 responsible gaming organisations from 10 countries, ICE Portfolio Director Margaret Dunn said: “This is a record number and reflects the fundamental importance of player protection.

The Responsible Gaming Zone is one of ICE’s most popular attractions and is widely recognized as the leading platform for promoting, adopting, and developing responsible gaming practices.

Dunn notes: “With a prominent new presence located in the main corridor between pavilions 4 and 5 and a redesigned, open layout, SGZ offers attendees a unique opportunity to explore emerging technological trends and participate in three days of insightful presentations on the future of responsible gaming and responsible gaming regulation.”

She comments: “The relationship that our industry partners have with protecting players goes beyond financial donations, and I am very pleased that the Responsible Gaming Zone is a meeting point for debate, discussion, and collaboration.

It is extremely gratifying to see that many of the advances in responsible gaming that benefit players are the result of discussions that took place during ICE and partnerships that were established at ICE.”

Who were the beneficiaries of ICE Barcelona 2025?

The beneficiaries of ICE Barcelona 2025 were Gordon Moody, Fejar, and FES. In addition, the funding granted to FES supported the launch of a Catalan version of a campaign to raise awareness of the risks associated with the use of digital media to provide educational materials and tools for schools and families.
