Flamengo announced a new licensing proposal with Pixbet, its master sponsor. The proposal, which will be presented to the club’s Deliberative Council, aims to create “Flabet”, a bookmaker linked to the club.
Increase in revenue
The licensing agreement, lasting until December 2027, is an innovative commercial strategy for Flamengo. “Flabet” will not just be restricted to Flamengo games; it will offer bets on matches from different clubs and sports.
This expands the reach and revenue potential of the new platform. Below is the expected revenue for Flamengo:
- In 2024 it will be R$10 million
- In 2025 it will be R$22.5 million
- In 2026 and 2027 it will be R$25 million
The club could still profit more, depending on the financial performance of “Flabet”. But if the gross revenue from bets exceeds the minimum guaranteed value, Flamengo will receive 1% of the surplus. In other words, this business model can bring a new and significant source of revenue for the club.
But Flamengo’s board believes that “Flabet’s” revenue will be greater than those disclosed in initial projections. The objective is to form another source of income for the club.
Flamengo Council will analyze the creation of Flabet
However, the Deliberative Council is already analyzing the proposal, but has not yet made a final decision. Therefore, councilors must vote on the proposal in the next 10 days, and the expectation is positive.
