Blaze, a betting company operating in Brazil, requested accreditation from Loterj to operate in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Currently, only five operators have a license in Rio.
The request was made within the deadline established by Loterj, whose notice remains open until August 14th. This accreditation requires verification of legal requirements and approval of Blaze’s gaming platform.
In Rio de Janeiro, the grant fee for authorization to operators is R$5 million. This amount is significantly lower than the R$30 million that the Ministry of Finance charges, with granting scheduled for January 2025.
The operation regularized by Loterj not only promotes the betting market in the state, but also benefits the public coffers. For every R$1 that Loterj collects in taxes, the Union collects around R$8.
