The Rio de Janeiro State Lottery (Loterj) has renewed its partnership with RioSolidário, ensuring that Lar da Mulher, an institution that has been providing shelter to women and children who are victims of violence for 18 years, continues to offer protection, care and support to rebuild lives.
More than 1,500 women and 3,000 children have already received care at the center, finding safety, strength, and support to start over. Furthermore, the support reinforces the Home’s role as a space for protection and social rehabilitation.
Board visit and team recognition
During the visit to the facilities, President Hazenclever Lopes Cançado and Vice President Fabíola Esteves toured the Women’s Home and paid tribute to the staff. They recognized the ongoing work of professionals who impact lives daily.
Hazenclever Lopes Cançado stated: “Ideally, places like Lar da Mulher would not need to exist, but while violence against women still threatens so many lives, Loterj will continue to be present, supporting initiatives that welcome, protect, and transform lives.
My tribute goes to the team at Lar da Mulher, RioSolidário, First Lady Analine Castro, and the institution’s president, Paola Figueiredo: your work is courage, dedication, and hope that lives on every day.”
The R$3.06 million investment over the next 12 months reinforces Loterj’s commitment to social responsibility and real impact. Furthermore, the initiative aligns with the Purple August campaign, which raises awareness about preventing and combating violence against women.
