The Sport Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has appointed Mauro Silva and Tamires Dias to the SIGA Champions program. SIGA is a global network of athletes committed to promoting the highest standards of integrity in sport.
As reported on its website, the announcement was made during the visit of Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, SIGA Global CEO, to Brazil, as part of ongoing efforts to promote the SIGA Latin America agenda.
Therefore, with these two big names, the SIGA Champions network now has 25 athletes and coaches from all over the world.
So, check out a brief biography of the newly named SIGA Champions, both football legends:
- Mauro Silva – FIFA World Cup winner with the Brazilian men’s national team in 1994 and a legend with Deportivo La Coruña. He is widely respected for his ethical conduct on and off the field. After retiring, he devoted himself to institutional roles, including as vice-president of the São Paulo Football Federation, promoting education, ethics and integrity in football. He is also a CONMEBOL Ambassador in Brazil; and
- Tamires Dias – With over 100 appearances for the Brazilian Women’s National Team, Tamires is a prominent figure in football. She interrupted her career at the age of 21 to become a mother and later returned to the highest competitive level, becoming a symbol of resilience. Off the field, she is a passionate advocate for gender equality in sport. She currently plays for Corinthians.
CEO celebrates arrival of new names
According to Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Global CEO of SIGA, the two new names are a source of pride for the institution.

Mauro Silva, Vice President of the São Paulo Football Federation, also commented on the partnership. “It is an honor to be recognized by SIGA.
