Brazilian team FURIA won the ESL Impact Season 7 trophy, the women’s Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) world championship, last Sunday (25). This victory represents a historic milestone, being the first time that a Brazilian women’s team has achieved first place in a world tournament of the game developed by Valve.
The experienced Brazilian players gabs, bizinha, izaa, kaahSENSEI, along with the Argentinean lulitenz, beat the North American team Supernova Comets by 2 maps to 1. With this victory, FURIA secured the CS2 title and took home the prize of US$ 50 thousand (approximately R$ 284,630 in direct conversion).
Last November, the team finished second at ESL Impact. This result had already been repeated at ESL’s global tournaments in seasons one, two and also at the Valencia event.
The championship was held in Dallas, United States, and had the participation of eight teams. Among them was another Brazilian team, MIBR, which finished in eighth place. The organization selected the participating teams based on the HLTV global ranking.
FURIA Men’s Team Wins R6 Reload
FURIA has cemented its position as a leader in the global eSports scene. Specifically, the organization won the R6 Reload Rainbow Six Siege championship earlier this month. The Brazilian men’s team, formerly known as ex-w7m, demonstrated superiority by defeating Japan’s CAG Osaka. The team won 3-0 in the final held at Arena Carioca 1 in Rio de Janeiro.
With scores of 7-4, 7-3 and 7-3 on the maps Lair, Bank and Café Dostoiévski, FURIA secured the prize of US$ 170 thousand (approximately R$ 1 million). This was the first title for the men’s team since the change of teams, adding to the Six Invitational 2024 won previously.
Finally, the event, which started on May 10, brought together 20 of the best R6 teams in the world, including five Brazilian teams: FaZe Clan, w7m, LOUD, FURIA and Team Liquid.
