Pennsylvania‘s gaming industry recorded historic revenue of $562.4 million in November 2024, up 26.06% from the previous year. This result reinforces the state’s position as leader in the gaming market in the USA.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) pointed to iGaming and sports betting as the main drivers of growth, with new monthly records.

iGaming and online slots on the rise in Pennsylvania

iGaming revenue rose 26.88% to reach US$200.5 million. Online slots led the segment, with US$148.7 million, an increase of 36% compared to the previous year.

In other words, this category continues to gain followers, driven by modern platforms and immersive experiences.

Advancement in sports betting

Sports betting revenue soared 498% to $77.1 million. Although total volume grew by just 0.15%, higher margins guaranteed significant gains for operators.

Physical slot machines grow; table games retreat

At retail, slot machines generated US$201.5 million, an increase of 6.21%. On the other hand, table games fell 2.45%, closing at US$77.6 million.

This data shows the strength of the most popular options among players.

Then, among operators, Valley Forge Casino Resort led with growth of 69.17% and revenue of $102.5 million. Other significant results include:

  • Hollywood Casino at Meadows: up 76.75%;
  • Hollywood Casino Morgantown: 84.9% increase;
  • Golden Nugget: 123% growth.

But not all sectors performed well. Video game terminals fell 4.39%, and fantasy contests fell 4.18%. The PGCB also imposed US$70,000 in fines for regulatory violations and added 17 individuals to the exclusion list for child neglect.

November maintained the positive trend seen in October, when gaming revenue grew 2.81%. But iGaming was the big highlight, with an increase of 22.1% in the month.

Therefore, Pennsylvania consolidates its position in the gaming market in the United States, driven by innovation and efficient regulation.
