Stake completes sports betting sponsorship with Chelsea

Chelsea are close to finalizing a sponsorship deal with online betting company Stake, which will feature prominently on the club’s shirt next season. According to the British website SportBusiness, the initial contract will last for one year and a value similar to the club’s previous agreement with Three, estimated at £ 40 million (about R$ 208 million).

This negotiation represents a strategy on the part of Chelsea, since the Premier League recently determined the gradual elimination of the main sponsorships of betting companies on the clubs’ shirts. However, as this ban will only come into effect at the end of the 2025/2026 season, Chelsea’s deal complies with current league rules.

Chelsea will now need to find a new sponsor to fill the shirt sleeve space as their previous deal with digital asset brand WhaleFin, worth £20m a year, has been terminated.

It is worth noting that the Chelsea deal will be the Stake’s second major sponsorship in the Premier League, following a previously signed £10m a year deal with Everton, which started the previous season.
