FanDuel will launch retail sports betting in Washington after securing a statewide market access agreement with Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort. Under the agreement with Port Madison Enterprises, the arm of the Suquamish Tribe, which owns and operates the casino, FanDuel will make retail sports betting available on-premises.
The bookmaker will feature three live betting units and 12 self-service terminal kiosks, as well as 17 screens showing live sports. Three additional self-service kiosks will be located in the casino’s Beach Rock Music and Sports Lounge.
“We are excited to be partnering with Port Madison Enterprises and the Suquamish Tribe to bring the #1 sports betting portfolio from the United States to Washington State,” said FanDuel Vice President of Retail Keith Wall. “The Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort will be a truly impressive location for the West Coast expansion of our FanDuel retail operations.”
Washington Sports Betting Approval
The deal was made possible after the recent approval of nine sports betting pacts in Washington earlier this month, which paved the way for the state’s legal betting market to come into operation. The Suquamish Tribe initially agreed to its new pact in May.
This followed the ratification, in May 2020, of the House Bill 2638, which facilitated the release of legal gambling in the state’s tribal casinos.
Suquamish Tribe President Leonard Forsman said: “We are delighted with the recent addition of sports betting to our gaming offering, making sports betting legal in the state for the first time.”
“The sports betting proceeds will help support the important government services the Suquamish Tribe provides to both tribal members and the local non-tribal community.”
