Under regulation, access to betting sites grew by 237% in Brazil in 2025

The online betting market in Brazil closed the year 2025 with unprecedented numbers, a direct reflection of the first full year under the new phase of regulation of the sector.

According to the Betting Panel, a monitoring tool managed by the Aposta Legal portal, legalized platforms registered 26.4 billion accesses last year, representing a significant jump of 237% compared to 2024.

The dimension of digital traffic

To put the scale of this expansion into perspective, the national average reached 2.2 billion monthly visits, equivalent to approximately 71 million daily accesses.

With this performance, betting platforms have consolidated themselves as the second most accessed segment of the Brazilian internet. They are second only to the Google search engine, which registers 4.8 billion monthly occurrences.

What is the structural impact on revenue and on football?

Vertical growth is directly linked to the legal certainty brought about by new laws.

The regulated landscape has allowed for an aggressive institutional insertion of operators into the sports ecosystem.

The significant presence of main sponsorships in football clubs, the acquisition of naming rights for competitions, and structured campaigns have reshaped the commercial dynamics of the sport in the country.

From a financial standpoint, the user retention and acquisition strategy yielded considerable results.

The survey estimates that regulated platforms will have generated revenue of R$ 36.1 billion throughout 2025.

In contrast, the parallel market for illegal betting still generated a significant amount of money, estimated at R$ 14.8 billion.

The impact of the sports calendar

The pace of the competitions also dictated the flow of users. The peak traffic of the year occurred in August, with 2.7 billion visits to legalized sportsbooks.

This ceiling reflects the increased activity in the football calendar at the start of the second half of the year, driven by the intensification of advertising campaigns linked to the decisive stages of the main tournaments.
