English club Leeds United announces partnership with Skrill

English football team Leeds United has announced a new deal with Skrill, making the digital payments company an official partner of the club. According to the contract, the first activation should occur with exposure of the brand in the stadium during a home game against Chelsea on Saturday, 13.

Founded in 2001, Skrill is a leader in digital payments, providing a platform that supports multiple payment methods, including credit cards, prepaid cards and real-time banking solutions in more than 120 countries.

Skrill – part of the leading specialized payment platform Paysafe – will also become a payment option at Leeds United’s international online store, which serves fans worldwide.

The partnership will make the Skrill brand appear prominently in Leeds United’s home games, through LED advertising throughout the stadium, and continuously promoted on the club’s online channels, including its official website and app. Skrill will also work with Leeds to produce a series of exclusive content to provide fans with additional access to players.

The deal also reinforces the company’s activity in the United Kingdom, which has identified an opportunity to promote its services, such as prepaid card, cryptocurrency purchase and sale and Skrill Money Transfer, which allows it to send money abroad at competitive rates.

Andrea Radrizzani, president of Leeds United, said: “We are delighted that Skrill is joining us as a partner. Skrill and Leeds United are dynamic forces in our respective sectors, challenging the status quo and going through a particularly exciting time on our journey. ”

Radrizzani added: “Both of our brands have a strong and loyal fan base in the UK and internationally. And, we are looking forward to rewarding our supporters through this partnership ”.

Lorenzo Pellegrino, CEO of Skrill, NETELLER and Paysafe’s Income Access, said: “With the fans’ eagerly anticipated return to football stadiums and the incredible season Leeds United is having, I can’t think of a more exciting time for Skrill enter this partnership. We wish the team all the best for this weekend’s big game and the rest of the season ”.
