At the ZITRO headquarters in the Spanish capital, founder Johnny Ortiz gave an interview to the InfoPlay website, alongside his son Bryan and Manuela Jiménez, the group’s vice president. He assessed the challenges of the gaming industry globally in such an unusual year and revealed his company’s long-term plans.

“We bet on quality, diversification and creation. In these difficult times for companies, we are hiring more qualified personnel to achieve our short, medium and long term goals. We also invest in our team. We are committed to providing more training because we want to advance even more ”, stated Ortiz.

“With LINK KING, we manufacture the best machine on the market, a machine widely known by our customers and consolidated in the market”, adding: “Now, we are going to revolutionize the way of playing in Spain again”.

According to the founder of ZITRO, his next product will revolutionize the new way of playing in the country. “We will be the first to launch it. Between the end of this year and the first quarter of 2021. Stay tuned, because if you don’t have this news from ZITRO, you will be left behind ”, he said.

Online game vs. face-to-face game

ZITRO is also standing out in the digital area, valuing its production. “We are focused on diversification,” emphasized Ortiz. But he does not believe that the online product will fully replace face-to-face gaming “although we are working on both fields with a new battery of games for the first quarter of 2021”

“The pandemic problem will not end our customs, sooner or later everything will be as it was before. We are not going to stop going to the bars, to socialize… Playing online is good when you are alone at home, but it will not end our habit of going out to enjoy our free time ”, he stressed.

Ortiz cites need for more specialists in the sector

The executive also highlighted the need for specialization of manpower, aiming at the entry of products that are more and more involving and that meet public demand.

“Our dedication to online does not mean that we are using the same equipment, but that we focus on game development at the same time and this is obviously only achieved by hiring more professionals. Spain needs to retain talent, we need more experts in design, programming, etc. ”

Today, ZITRO presents itself as one of the largest employers in the gaming and leisure sector in Spain. “This work, both in-person and online, makes us present in 40 countries at this time. And what most demands resources in the digital area are the integrations for each operator, for each platform ”, he said.

ZITRO´s plans

Ortiz stressed that the product he will soon present in all cinemas in Spain is the result of the group’s effort to make good products. “The novelty will be the conjunction of the other two, LINK KING and LINK ME, but being completely different”.

The founder also revealed that the company has scheduled launches until 2024. “Our range of products around the world is impressive, different, adapted to each market and that requires great preparation. And, we have a product planned by 2024: at least one new machine per year for Spain ”, he concluded.
