SOFTSWISS, a global iGaming software provider, held a Live Panel on LinkedIn addressing casino operators about the cost of not having a sportsbook.
The session brought together experts in eSports betting, iGaming marketing, data analytics and technology providers to understand whether concerns holding operators back from adding the vertical are justified or a myth.
The SOFTSWISS LinkedIn Live Panel, “Is Your Casino Losing Revenue? The Cost of Not Having a Sportsbook,” answered the most common reasons why casino operators are hesitant to launch a sportsbook, and whether these reasons hold up against operational realities.
What are the main challenges and myths in sports betting operations
The panel explored the topic from five angles:
- Sportsbook operations have addressed the issue of specialization – trading, risk and live betting are different from the casino. Managed services allow operators to outsource complexity while maintaining product control.
- Audience strategy highlighted areas of overlap. Casino players already get involved in sports at major events. The operator’s task is to identify and activate this overlap rather than creating demand from scratch.
- Player monetization has reshaped bettor value – sportsbook users can appear low-value when measured against the casino’s LTV (Life Time Value). With the right retention playbook, betting and casino products reinforce each other.
- Financial management addressed margin volatility, which is real but manageable. Modern risk tools and disciplined pricing keep unit economics in check from day one.
- Platform integration handled the technical effort. Adding a sportsbook used to be complex, but API-first and turnkey solutions have reduced it to a predictable, time-bound project.
SOFTSWISS experts discuss how a structured expansion can transform your business revenue
Moderated by Iren Kuznietsova, Head of Partner Success at SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, the panel included:
- Victor Sekushenko, Head of Sales at SOFTSWISS Sportsbook;
- Tigran Sharafyan, Senior Business Development Manager at Oddin.gg, a B2B provider of eSports betting solutions;
- Nicky Bonello Ghio, Founder of Bambi Data, an iGaming data and analytics company
- Barb Tasci, Co-Founder of Revpanda, a marketing and growth agency for iGaming brands
Victor Sekushenko, Head of Sales at SOFTSWISS Sportsbook, commented: “What often looks like complexity or risk in a sportsbook can become a real opportunity if approached in the right way and with the right partner.
We put this panel together deliberately – each speaker brings a different part of the picture, and together they cover the full reality of what a sportsbook expansion involves.
If you’ve never seriously considered launching one, this recording could change that because it provides a practical checklist and step-by-step answers for you to take back to your team.”
The full panel discussion is available on the SOFTSWISS LinkedIn page.
