A simple bet made in the city of Barra de São Francisco, in Espírito Santo, matched all six numbers in the 2897th Mega-Sena contest, drawn this Tuesday (5).
The winning game was registered at the Mapa da Mina lottery, with only six numbers marked, characterizing the most basic bet possible in the contest, at a cost of R$6.
The winning bettor took home the accumulated prize of R$99,592,255.97. The numbers drawn were: 01 – 06 – 24 – 27 – 28 – 57 .
In addition to the main winner, 117 other bets got five numbers right and each will receive R$36,347.56. Four numbers won prizes for 7,644 bets, with an individual payout of R$917.04.
As announced by Caixa Econômica Federal, the next Mega-Sena draw is scheduled for Thursday (7), with live broadcast starting at 8 pm on Caixa’s official YouTube channel.
Interested parties can register their bets until 7 pm on the day of the draw, either in person at a lottery outlet or online.
Since August 2nd, new rules have been in effect for the distribution of prizes. Now, the main Mega-Sena bracket, which includes six correct numbers, receives 40% of the total prize pool, compared to 35% previously. Meanwhile, the quina (five-number) bracket now receives 13% of the total prize pool, and the quadra (four-number) bracket receives 15%.
These changes aim to improve the distribution of prizes among bettors and make prizes more attractive. However, the probability of winning remains the same, requiring luck and strategy.
How to bet on Mega-Sena
To bet on Mega-Sena, simply choose 6 to 20 numbers from the 60 available on the ticket. The minimum bet costs R$6 and can be placed at lottery outlets or on the Caixa website.
Therefore, the more numbers marked, the higher the bet amount and the higher the chances of winning. The probability of matching 6 numbers is 1 in 50,063,860.
Another option is to participate in an official lottery pool. In this pool, several people join together to bet together, sharing the costs and the prize if they win. Finally, bettors can participate in the pool directly at lottery outlets and increase their chances by using multiple bets.
