As a result, R $ 79,590,065.50 was accumulated for next Saturday (5/29). Caixa‘s expectation is that the prize will reach R $ 100 million, the highest amount in the history of Mega-Sena.
Five bettors from the Federal District, in Brasilia, came close to taking the jackpot, hitting five of the six dozens drawn. Each of them won the amount of R $ 42,488.96. The five bettors played a simple game of six dozen, in the amount of R $ 4.50.

The biggest award to date
Mega-Sena was launched in March 1996 and has already awarded more than 200 winners in the main band. On October 10, 1999, a prize in the amount of approximately R $ 64 million was paid to a bettor from Salvador, Bahia.
The biggest prize in regular contests – and the biggest individual prize ever recorded – was paid to a single player: more than R $ 289 million, on May 11, 2019.
In 2008 the Virada Mega-Sena was launched
Mega da Virada de 2020 paid the biggest prize in the history of Caixa lotteries. It was R $ 325.2 million for those who got six numbers right. Two bets spiked the six dozens drawn: 17-20-22-35-41-42.
