The ESL Pro Tour Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Circuit, CS: GO, will be broadcast on numerous platforms to the Brazilian public. This is because Grupo Globo closed a partnership agreement with Omelete Company and streamer Alexandre “Gaules” for the exhibition of all stages.

In this way, the CS: GO tournament will feature two coverage models: transmission on the streamer platform and exhibition on SporTV and Gaules TV, with specialized commentators.

“Since 2017, Globo has been investing in the world of games and eSports. The great world competitions of electronic sports do not lose anything to great competitions of traditional sports. Great idols, strong teams, passionate fans, spectacle, competitiveness and high prizes. And ESL is the largest eSports company in the world, ”said Leandro Valentim, head of games and eSports at Globo.

Valentim added: “Based on this partnership between Globo and Omelete and Gaules, we will bring the best CS: GO content in the world to Brazilian fans. From the most fanatical of the community to the mainstream audience, who will meet and celebrate the Brazilian athletes who stand out in these competitions ”.

Different experiences for CS: GO fans

According to the closed contract, Globo and Omelete bought the rights to carry out extra marketing actions on social networks, in addition to promoting initiatives so that fans can have different experiences, even in distance mode.

“One of the largest entertainment companies in Brazil, the Omelete Company, which was born on the internet and now allows incredible experiences for millions of people, has entered into a partnership with one of the largest media outlets in the world, Globo, and with a high-level streamer worldwide, Gaules, with the objective of establishing what has been considered one of the most daring eSports coverage strategies in the world ”, stated Pierre Mantovani, CEO of Omelete.

Therefore, the intention is that the Brazilian public connected to eSports can follow CS: GO in any way they prefer. Be it a more fun broadcast or more focused on statistics.

Growth of bets on eSports

The interest of large media conglomerates in CS: GO championships or other forms of eSports is not new, but it has become even more significant in recent months.

With the stoppage of the main sporting events due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, electronic games were not so impacted by the measures of social isolation and emerged as a source of content and live betting. Therefore, the gaming industry sees and invests more and more in the growth potential of eSports.
