This Wednesday (23), Comercial Esporte Clube reported that it has taken legal action against HanzBet. The betting company was the master sponsor of Leão do Norte and announced that it will cease its activities at the end of the month.
The club is still seeking to activate the fine for breach of contract and is demanding overdue payments from the company. The brand had been the club’s master sponsor since January, with the contract lasting one year.
HanzBet announced on the company’s official website that customers have until July 31st to withdraw the balances held in the account.
Furthermore, all open bets have been canceled and refunded to users. HanzBet also stated that its customer service channels are open to answer any further questions.
New Comercial sponsor
However, Comercial also announced the new master sponsor, which will replace HanzBet. It’s EsportivaVip, from the same betting sector.
According to the club, the contract lasts 15 months and the “debut” in the uniform will be at Come-Fogo, at the home of rival Botafogo-SP, on August 6, for the eighth round of the Copa Paulista.
What HanzBet says
“NT, responsible for the creation, structuring and management of the HanzBet brand, informs that the sponsorship contracts signed with football clubs were directly impacted by a serious corporate crisis, caused by unilateral conduct by the company EA Entretenimento e Esportes LTDA., the ostensible partner of the operation and holder of the regulatory license.
Despite NT’s efforts to maintain operational continuity, including conciliation attempts and coordinated transition proposals, EA chose to abruptly terminate HanzBet’s operations, without prior notice, without legal support, and without accountability to the partners or clubs involved. All contracts—including sponsorships—were signed directly by EA, while NT was responsible for brand building and institutional support.
We deeply regret the impacts of this conduct on our partner clubs, with whom we have always maintained an ethical and transparent relationship.
We reiterate that NT is available to clarify the facts and remains committed to holding accountable, through legal means, those who violated agreements and compromised the brand’s reputation among athletes, fans, and sports institutions.
NT and HanzBet’s (as a brand) commitment to Brazilian football remains intact — and the truth will be demonstrated with documents, testimonies and formal evidence.”
