Luciana Macorin, CEO of Nossabet, shared the challenges faced by the company, as well as the search for local and federal licensing. Currently, the bookmaker operates only in the territory of Paraná due to registration granted by the State Lottery (Lottopar).
“To talk about Nossabet, it is necessary to say that we are only within the state of Paraná, our license is local. I believe that the biggest challenge is the gray market, the market for houses that exist today in Brazil and many of which do not even have a state license.”
“They (bookmakers) are operating normally and advertising on radio, TV, on players’ shirts and having their names linked to football championships. So, the biggest challenge is this lawless land that we still have in Brazil”, he added.
State license was the ‘gateway’ to the Brazilian market
Furthermore, Luciana explained the option of initially seeking a local license. “The federal license requires the company to have at least one state license. We see that the state license would be a gateway to the legalized Brazilian market.”
As the CEO of Nossabet explained, this experience served as a warm-up for what it will be like to have the federal license, in addition to being able to better understand the spirit of the Brazilian player and the Brazilian market.

Luciana Macorin highlighted that the deadline for companies to be ready and present all documentation ends on August 20th. “This is the most bureaucratic part. The government guarantees that companies that submit the document by this date will have their license on January 1, 2025.”
