About IBIA
IBIA is a non-profit organization that has no competing conflicts with the provision of commercial services to other sectors. It is managed by operators so that operators protect regulated sports betting markets against match-fixing.
Therefore, IBIA’s global monitoring network is a highly effective anti-corruption tool, detecting and reporting suspicious activity in regulated betting markets.
Therefore, through the global monitoring network it is possible to track transactional activities linked to individual customer accounts. Members have over $300 billion per year in betting turnover. This represents approximately 50% of the global regulated commercial online and land-based sports betting sector, and over 50% online only.
IBIA recently released a report on the Availability of Sports Betting Products. He highlights that a regulatory structure in Brazil with high product availability is expected to have US$34 billion in onshore sports betting revenue, providing US$2.8 billion in revenue, by 2028.
The Q1 2024 report detailed 56 alerts during the quarter. IBIA’s warnings contributed to investigations and subsequent successful sanctions of 21 clubs, players and officials in 2023.
