The 2024 Carioca Championship will kick off this Wednesday (17). Considered the second main state tournament in Brazil, Cariocão will have the presence of BetSpeed in half of the participating teams.
However, what has drawn attention off the field is the growing presence of sponsorships from bookmakers, with 11 of the 12 teams in the competition guaranteeing significant support from brands in this sector.
To begin with, the four main clubs in the state will have master sponsorships from bookmakers. Flamengo reached an agreement with Pixbet, which will become the master sponsor, contributing R$85 million annually to the red-and-black club.
Vasco, in turn, will count on EstrelaBet as its new main partner, investing R$45 million annually.
In the other two big clubs, there were no changes. Fluminense, current champion of the Libertadores, will continue with the support of Betano in 2024, while Botafogo, in its search for recovery after the setback in the second round of the Brasileirão, will once again boast Parimatch in the prime space of its shirt.

In the rest of the participants, the significant investment from BetSpeed stands out, which closed agreements with half of the participating clubs this past Tuesday (16).
The list includes Audax, Boavista, Madureira, Portuguesa, Sampaio Corrêa and Volta Redonda.
In the case of Madureira, the contract signed is for master sponsorship.
Furthermore, BetSpeed announced two new important additions as ambassadors: former player Túlio Maravilha (Botafogo icon) and former coach Joel Santana (with experience at each of the four big clubs in the state).
To complete the list of clubs sponsored by bookmakers in the tournament, Bangu recently renewed with Bet7k until 2025. It is worth noting that in the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, this brand occupied the main space on the club’s shirt.
Among the 12 participants, the only club so far without sponsorship from the betting sector is Nova Iguaçu. On its official website, the club currently mentions six official sponsors, with no connection to the betting segment.
