Launched in 1970, the ESPN Bola de Prata Aposta Ganha Award, the most traditional annual sporting celebration of Brazilian football, reaches its 55th edition in 2024, recognizing the best footballers and coaches in Series A of the Brazilian Championship.
Starting this year, the traditional award ceremony is named after Aposta Ganha, one of the largest Brazilian sports betting houses, sealing the beginning of a partnership with ESPN, considered the largest television channel network in the world, a company owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Corporation.
The tradition, the seriousness with the evaluation criteria and the recognition of clubs, athletes and the public for the award meant that Aposta Ganha joined the broadcaster in the traditional Bola de Prata Aposta Ganha Award.

About the Bola de Prata Aposta Ganha
Each of the 20 teams in Series A of the Brazilian Football Championship will have ESPN experts assigning ratings to the players round by round.
At the end of the championship, the averages of these scores will represent 60% of the score, while the other 40% will come from the “DataESPN Algorithm”, created by the channel’s tactical and statistical performance analysis core, which analyzes more than 80 performance statistics for each athlete.
After the last round, the players with the highest average in each position will receive a prize. Thus, the player with the highest average will be chosen as the best player in the championship and will receive the ESPN Golden Ball Aposta Ganha.
The competition’s top scorer will receive the ESPN Silver Ball Top Scorer Win Bet. While the youngest player will receive the Newcomer award. Finally, the best coach will receive the Telê Santana Trophy.
