Winners have yet to claim R$14.7 million in Lotofácil da Independência prizes

The Lotofácil da Independência prize awarded each of the 54 bets approximately R$4.2 million, adding up to R$231.8 million. However, according to Caixa Econômica, after 11 days, the winners have still not claimed R$14,773,122.70 of this prize.

According to Caixa, 98 winners have not yet claimed their prize money. This is because, of the 54 winning bets, 30 were part of a syndicate sold by Caixa itself. In other words, they were split into multiple tickets purchased by different people. Some tickets do not qualify for the full R$4.2 million prize, but for fragments starting at R$50,000.

Therefore, it’s important to note that these lucky winners have 90 days to claim their prizes, which ends on December 5th of this year.

The numbers drawn in the 3,480th Lotofácil da Independência contest this year were: 03, 05, 06, 08, 09, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22 and 23.

After 90 days, the funds are considered abandoned and are then allocated to social funds. Furthermore, current legislation stipulates that the funds will be allocated to Fies (Student Financing Fund), a federal government program to help public school graduates cover higher education costs.
