ITIA identifies 10 suspicious tennis matches in the second quarter

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) published its report for the second quarter of 2025. In the document, the entity recorded 10 formal alerts related to tennis matches.

In addition, the agency collected 2,165 samples in routine anti-doping tests, administered in and out of competition, involving players from 30 countries.

Warnings involve three professional circuits

The alerts are part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ITIA and betting companies. According to the document, the industry reported three alerts from matches on the ATP Challenger circuit, two from the WTA, and five from the Men’s World Tennis Tour. A total of 10 suspected cases were identified.

The agency emphasized that the alerts do not necessarily indicate match-fixing. However, they may represent conflicts of interest and, therefore, should be analyzed carefully.

Education and engagement remain ITIA’s focus

ITIA CEO Karen Moorhouse said: “Education, support and engagement remain strategic priorities for the organization.”

“We continue to work proactively with players, coaches, agents, officials and player support staff at all levels of the game; from Grand Slams to ITF World Tennis Tour 15K tournaments and, perhaps most importantly, junior events – ensuring everyone is equipped with the essential knowledge to avoid inadvertent rules violations.”

Moorhouse then highlighted: “Part of our work is also to improve understanding of the case management process – but this is not a challenge that ITIA can overcome alone.”

“It is a collective responsibility of all members of the tennis family to work together — and we will continue to provide as many opportunities as possible to meet with stakeholders to answer questions, listen to feedback and find solutions,” he added.

About ITIA

The ITIA is the organization responsible for protecting professional tennis from corruption and match-fixing worldwide. The organization updated the former Tennis Integrity Unit and created its new structure after reviewing the integrity of the sport.

Therefore, it plays a fundamental role in keeping tennis safe, both for spectators and athletes.
