Sportradar Integrity Services, Sportradar’s global provider of sports integrity solutions, announced this week that it has signed an agreement with the Finnish Center for Integrity in Sports (FINCIS). Starting this month, the supplier will monitor Finnish national sports competitions.

The agreement expands Sportradar’s portfolio of partnerships with state authorities and national bodies, which include organizations such as the Swedish Gaming Authority (Spelinspektionen) and the Estonian Center for Integrity in Sport (ESTCIS). The global provider of sports integrity solutions partners with more than 150 sports federations and leagues.

Under the terms of the agreement, which will run for several years, Sportradar will undertake betting monitoring and reporting for a multitude of sports using its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS). Around 5,000 matches will be monitored in the Finnish national sport such as bandy, basketball, floorball, futsal, handball, ice hockey, MMA, football and volleyball.

“UFDS is an advanced and proven betting monitoring system that has been independently evaluated and verified by recognized experts in the field of sports betting and integrity,” the company said in an official statement, detailing that betting patterns are analyzed for abnormalities by a global team of qualified integrity experts, and any suspicious matches are subsequently reported to partners, allowing critical visibility into match handling around the world.

Sportradar Integrity Services has detected more than 7,300 suspicious matches over the last 17 years, of which more than 600 happened in 2022 alone. The Integrity Services business is a central part of Sportradar’s broader commercial portfolio, which includes providing data and technology for media companies, bookmakers and federations.

FINCIS Research Director Jouko Ikonen commented on the agreement: “Everyone is entitled to fair play and the fight against competitive manipulation is one of FINCIS’ core tasks. Collaboration with Sportradar gives us an important additional advantage, as that betting on men’s, women’s and youth games and competitions is controlled with the UFDS”.

“Sportradar has a proven track record in the sports integrity industry, and its expert betting monitoring capabilities will play a crucial role in helping to protect the integrity of Finnish sport for years to come,” added Jouko.

Sportradar Integrity Services CEO Andreas Krannich added: “We are pleased to join forces with FINCIS to help protect the integrity of sport in Finland. We at Sportradar have identified increasing threats to integrity in various sports in recent years, and the global financial situation is likely to increase the risks faced by many sports”.

“Therefore, signing another key partnership with a national platform in Europe, in line with the framework of the Council of Europe’s Macolin Convention, is something we are very proud of. We look forward to supporting the FINCIS integrity program in the years to come,” added Andreas.
