Sportradar signs new partnership with World Aquatics (1)

Sportradar Integrity Services has announced a partnership with World Aquatics which will see the betting company’s subsidiary monitor water polo matches. The partnership is initially valid for two years, with more than 450 matches being monitored as part of the agreement.

Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Tournaments at the World Aquatics Championships, the Men’s and Women’s Under-20 Championships and the Men’s and Women’s Water Polo World Cups will form part of Sportradar‘s mandate.

In addition, the events will be covered by Sportradar’s Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), which has been used at numerous sporting events for the past 18 years.

World Aquatics Executive Director Brent J. Nowicki said, “We are firmly dedicated to protecting our competitions from threats to integrity, particularly as we approach the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

“The depth of knowledge that Sportradar Integrity Services provides through its UFDS platform and team of experts puts us in a great position to mitigate any betting-related issues that may arise in our competitions,” added Nowicki.

Furthermore, Sportradar Executive Vice President of Integrity Services Andreas Krannich added: “Over the past few years, we have seen match-fixers infiltrate an ever-increasing range of global sports at various levels of competition, including youth events.” .

“Water sports are not immune to such integrity threats, and we are committed to providing the strongest integrity provisions using our technology to protect World Aquatics water polo competitions over the next two years,” concluded Krannich.

Sportradar has had a busy time recently after it announced that it will open its first office in Mumbai, further strengthening its ties in India.
