The Esports Entertainment Group (EEG) signed a long-term agreement with Kraft Sports and Entertainment to be the official sponsor of the electronic sports tournaments for the New England Revolution football team and the New England Patriots, of the National Football League (NFL)
As part of the deal, EEG will use the Major League Soccer (MLS) club and the NFL team to promote the eSports championships held on its platform, the Esports Gaming League.
“We are looking forward to working with the Esports Entertainment Group to expand our reach in the fast-growing eSports market,” said Murray Kohl, vice president of sales at Kraft Sports and Entertainment.
He added: “The Esports Entertainment Group’s interactive tournament platform brings together gaming enthusiasts from around the world and provides an exciting new way to connect and interact with our fans.”
EEG intends to offer game tickets, player presentations and digital media actions to promote its events, while developing personalized videos to publicize their tournaments, which will be presented on the teams’ online channels.
EEG CEO Grant Johnson commented, “We are excited to continue to gain momentum in our competitive segment. The Patriots and the Revolution have a huge and loyal fan base. Our tournament platform will now sponsor two teams with thousands and passionate fans ”.
Johnson further stated that “I believe that our robust tournament platform will help both teams to strengthen their ties with their fans, providing new ways to gain engagement”.
