Gemma Burge is Dazn Bet's new Head of Safer Gambling

Dazn continues to shape the team for its new sports betting service, Dazn Bet, with Gemma Burge named as Head of Safer Gambling.

Burge, who joins the soon-to-be-released Dazn Bet, served at William Hill, where he spent nearly three years. She held a similar role at William Hill, leading the company’s Safer Gaming Policy, Strategy and Risk department.

Prior to William Hill, Burge held various roles in Sky Bet’s Risk Assurance department. About her new position, Gemma Burge stated, “I am absolutely delighted to share that I am starting a new position as Head of Safer Gambling at Dazn Bet.”

She added: “I am so excited to be working for this amazing brand as it starts its new business, building a gaming experience that will promote safe gaming and customer well-being.”

Dazn Bet, which will launch in the coming months with technical support from Pragmatic Play, will be based in Gibraltar. The company plans to launch its new sports betting service before the start of the 2022/23 football season.

Therefore, the new Dazn project must follow the English calendar. The ball should roll on the last weekend of July in the English second division (English Football League Championship) and in early August in the Premier League, the elite of English football.

In addition to Gemma Burge, the new company in the betting sector is carrying out a series of signings. Mark Kemp has been announced as the new CEO of Dazn Bet, having previously served as CEO of BoyleSports and Managing Director of Tote UK.

Former Amazon and Entain executives Sandeep Tiku and Ian Turnbull have been named Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Betting, respectively.
