BiS Brasília quarta-feira

Royal Tulip Brasília Alvorada recebeu a primeira edição da convenção

Wednesday (22) represented the farewell of BiS Brasília, an unprecedented conference promoted by BiS SiGMA in conjunction with ABRAJOGO (Brazilian Gaming Association), ANJL (National Association of Games and Lotteries) and ANALOME (National Association of State and Municipal Lotteries).

After an opening day with attendance far exceeding expectations and all activities attended by a large audience, the event concluded its program at the Royal Tulip Brasília Alvorada.

Responsible gaming

The first panel of the day brought together a team of well-known figures in the iGaming world to address an essential topic in a market that is still maturing, like Brazil.

Cristiano Costa (Knowledge Director at EBAC), Fellipe Fraga (CBO at EstrelaBet), Ricardo Magri (Co-founder of EBAC), Filipe Rodrigues (President of Jogo Positivo), Mauricio Lima (Senior BD Manager at Oddin.gg) and Thiago Iusim (CEO at Betshield) delved deeper into the concept of responsible gaming and its social impact, pointing out policies and measures that ensure a balance between sector growth and consumer protection.

State lotteries

Wednesday’s second debate delved into another hot topic these days: state lotteries. More and more states are showing interest in reviving or creating their lottery projects, targeting new sources of revenue for investment and strengthening priority areas.

The invited panelists were: Hazenclever Lopes (President of LOTERJ), Roberto Brasil Fernandes (Founding Partner of Brasil Fernandes Advogados), Eduardo Paiva (CEO of Lototins), Everton Sales (Director of Operations at Lotese) and Francisco Petrônio (Superintendent of the Paraíba State Lottery – Lotep).

Compliance and innovation

Advertising best practices are among the most relevant topics for licensed companies, which value compliance and innovation. Therefore, a prestigious team was assembled to assess the boundaries between ethics, regulation, and technology in communication and campaigns for the betting industry.

The round table was formed by Natália Nogues (CEO of Control F5 and director of AMIG), Simone Vicentini (Former Deputy Secretary of Prizes and Sports Betting at the Ministry of Treasury), Fernanda Batistella (Partner at Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados), Hugo Ribeiro (Legal Manager at Cactus) and Beatriz Melges (Regional Director Brazil at BetConstruct).

Tax model and tax efficiency

The last BiS Brasília event covered a very sensitive topic currently due to the possibility of changes in the taxation of authorized companies, less than a year after the implementation of the regulation in the country.

Luiz Felipe Maia (Partner at Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados), Leandro Pamplona (Partner at BKP Advogados), Witoldo Hendrich Júnior (Partner at Online IPS and Hendrich Advogados) presented ways to balance efficient collection, competitiveness and legal certainty for operators and regulators.

The event had wide coverage and repercussion in the national media

Over the course of its two days, BiS Brasília not only helped shape the direction of the gaming and betting industry in Brazil in the short, medium, and long term, but also generated national media coverage. Several topics discussed at the event made headlines and were featured in major media outlets.

BiS Brasília also received extensive coverage from specialized media, with special emphasis on the Poder360 portal, a strategic partner of the organization, in addition to the official media partners — BNL Data, Games Magazine Brasil and iGaming Brazil, reference portals in monitoring and analyzing the iGaming sector in Brazil.

Finally, Flavio Figueiredo, Managing Director of BiS SiGMA, responsible for the closing of BiS in the federal capital, celebrated the success of the first edition. The event was a success in every aspect. We achieved our primary objective of strengthening ties between the industry and regulators at an emblematic moment for Brazilian iGaming.”

“This edition also served as an excellent opportunity to take stock and reflect on the first year of the regulated market in Brazil, highlighting the strengths and those that still need to be improved, with a focus on consolidating the gaming ecosystem and protecting players,” he concluded.
