{"id":217037,"date":"2026-02-04T12:44:12","date_gmt":"2026-02-04T15:44:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/nao-categorizado\/2026\/02\/04\/caixa-plans-a-special-30th-anniversary-mega-sena-draw-with-a-prize-of-r-150-million-and-a-rule-that-the-prize-will-not-accumulate\/"},"modified":"2026-02-04T15:58:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-04T18:58:03","slug":"caixa-plans-a-special-30th-anniversary-mega-sena-draw-with-a-prize-of-r-150-million-and-a-rule-that-the-prize-will-not-accumulate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/lottery-en-2\/2026\/02\/04\/caixa-plans-a-special-30th-anniversary-mega-sena-draw-with-a-prize-of-r-150-million-and-a-rule-that-the-prize-will-not-accumulate\/","title":{"rendered":"Caixa plans a special 30th-anniversary Mega-Sena draw with a prize of R$ 150 million and a rule that the prize will not accumulate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caixa.gov.br\/Paginas\/home-caixa.aspx\">Caixa Econ\u00f4mica Federal <\/a>wants to celebrate the anniversary of its most famous lottery with a <strong>major draw<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The institution is in negotiations with the <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/legislation-en\/2026\/02\/04\/spa-mf-creates-working-group-to-review-commercial-promotions-with-free-prizes\/\">Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA)<\/a>, of the Ministry of Finance, to launch the special edition &#8220;Mega-Sena 30 years&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If approved, the edition will have an <strong>initial prize estimated at R$ 150 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The big draw is that the contest would work in the same way as <strong>Mega da Virada<\/strong>, <strong>Quina de S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o<\/strong> and <strong>Lotof\u00e1cil da Independ\u00eancia<\/strong>: the main prize does <strong>not accumulate<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, if no one gets all six numbers right, the jackpot will be divided among those who get <strong>five numbers<\/strong> right, and so on.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What will change in the calendar?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make this super raffle possible, a change is being discussed. The traditional <strong>&#8220;Dupla Sena de P\u00e1scoa&#8221; <\/strong>(Easter Double Sena), which takes place in April, would <strong>cease to be held in 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was a demand presented by the <strong>Brazilian Federation of Lottery Companies (Febralot),<\/strong> which sees the Easter product losing competitive strength, since its prizes usually range from <strong>R$ 30 to R$ 35 million<\/strong>, amounts considered low for a special event.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Due to this change, the idea is to save the resources from this year&#8217;s Dupla (double lottery) to add them to the <strong>2027 draw.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With this, next year&#8217;s <strong>Easter Double Sena <\/strong>lottery would start with a much more attractive prize, starting at <strong>R$ 60 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three decades of history<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative aims to celebrate the history of the lottery game that replaced the old <strong>&#8220;Sena&#8221;<\/strong>. The first Mega-Sena draw took place on<strong> March 11, 1996, in Bras\u00edlia<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In that historic debut, the winning numbers were <strong>04, 05, 30, 33, 41, and 52<\/strong>. Curiously, <strong>no one won the top prize<\/strong> on launch day, causing the prize money to accumulate. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, all that remains is to await approval from the <strong>Ministry of Treasury <\/strong>to know if the 30th anniversary celebration will indeed have a new millionaire guaranteed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Caixa Econ\u00f4mica Federal wants to celebrate the anniversary of its most famous lottery with a major draw.
