Furthermore, it teaches how to identify signs that gambling may be leading the bettor to emotional and financial insecurity, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/7k-en\/2025\/08\/11\/regulation-sportsbooks-promote-free-programs-to-combat-gambling-addiction\/\">gambling addiction<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>booklet is available for free download on the OAB SP and Procon-SP websites. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.procon.sp.gov.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Cartilha-OAB-Procon-final.pdf\">See it here<\/a>.<\/strong> According to Federal Law No. 14.790\/2023, all bettors are consumers. Therefore, all rights provided for in the Consumer Protection Code are guaranteed to those who bet.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aiming to reach as many people as possible following the popularization of <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/sports-betting-en\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"Sports Betting\">sports betting<\/a>, the material offers information such as advertising rules, authorized payment methods, prize withdrawal deadlines, <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/online-en\/2024\/07\/31\/procon-sp-defends-protocol-to-combat-the-harmful-effects-of-online-betting\/\">liability for service issues<\/a>, and personal data protection (LGPD). Furthermore,<strong> it lists which defense agencies bettors can turn to<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <strong>Carina Minc, chief advisor <\/strong>at Procon-SP, the goal is to better inform people. &#8220;It&#8217;s essential that we better inform consumers. They need to know that they are gambling consumers, whose rights are protected by law.&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;And, because it&#8217;s a recent regulation, consumers aren&#8217;t used to this new reality. The guide was created from this need to empower gambling consumers,&#8221; he explained. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Booklet presents channels for reporting the illegal betting market<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consumers can <strong>also find addresses of protection and prevention agencies<\/strong>, information on the risks of gambling addiction, tips for preventing financial and emotional instability, and who to turn to in cases of gambling addiction in general.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, complaints regarding misleading advertising or failure to protect personal data can be filed on the Procon-SP <a href=\"http:\/\/www.procon.sp.gov.br\">platform<\/a>.
