{"id":195660,"date":"2025-07-25T11:04:41","date_gmt":"2025-07-25T14:04:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/nao-categorizado\/2025\/07\/25\/house-committee-approves-transfer-of-loteca-funds-to-abbr-and-the-sarah-network-of-hospitals\/"},"modified":"2025-07-25T11:30:23","modified_gmt":"2025-07-25T14:30:23","slug":"house-committee-approves-transfer-of-loteca-funds-to-abbr-and-the-sarah-network-of-hospitals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/nao-categorizado\/2025\/07\/25\/house-committee-approves-transfer-of-loteca-funds-to-abbr-and-the-sarah-network-of-hospitals\/","title":{"rendered":"House Committee approves transfer of Loteca funds to ABBR and the Sarah Network of hospitals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.camara.leg.br\/atividade-legislativa\/comissoes\/comissoes-permanentes\/cssf\">Health Committee of the Chamber of Deputies<\/a><\/strong> recently approved a bill that adds the Brazilian Charitable Rehabilitation Association (ABBR) and the Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals to the list of civil society organizations that benefit once a year from the federal government&#8217;s net income from a <strong>Loteca<\/strong> (sports predictions lottery) competition.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the following entities benefit:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>National Federation of Associations of Parents and Friends of Exceptional People (Fenapaes);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brazilian Red Cross; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National Federation of Pestalozzi Associations (Fenapestalozzi).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the recommendation of the rapporteur, <strong>Congressman <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/legislation-en\/2022\/09\/28\/federal-deputy-vermelho-reinforces-defense-of-the-legalization-of-games-and-casinos\/\">Vermelho<\/a> (PP-PR)<\/strong>, Senate Bill 3071\/19 was approved with an amendment to include the Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals among the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is because the original project, authored by Senator Fl\u00e1vio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), provides for the inclusion of only ABBR.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Given the magnitude of this proposal, I believe it is appropriate to present a rapporteur&#8217;s amendment to add Rede Sarah to the list of beneficiaries. This institution represents hospitality, knowledge, and the provision of excellent services,&#8221; said Representative Vermelho.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sarah Network<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Sarah Network of Rehabilitation Hospitals<\/strong> was founded in Bras\u00edlia in 1960 by President Juscelino Kubitschek. It currently offers excellent rehabilitation services in the federal capital and seven other Brazilian capitals.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cities are as follows: S\u00e3o Lu\u00eds, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Macap\u00e1, Rio de Janeiro and Bel\u00e9m).<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Next steps of the project that changes the Loteca distribution<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus, the approved text amends Law 13,756\/18, which determines rules for the division of lottery revenue in the country.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thus, the proposal will still be analyzed, on a conclusive basis, by the Finance and Taxation Committees and the Constitution and Justice and Citizenship Committee.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, to become law, the text that modifies the distribution of Loteca needs to be <strong>approved by the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal
