{"id":195284,"date":"2025-07-22T11:10:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T14:10:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/nao-categorizado\/2025\/07\/22\/intersecretarial-group-gti-bets-has-its-work-deadline-extended\/"},"modified":"2025-07-22T11:23:28","modified_gmt":"2025-07-22T14:23:28","slug":"intersecretarial-group-gti-bets-has-its-work-deadline-extended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/legislation-en\/2025\/07\/22\/intersecretarial-group-gti-bets-has-its-work-deadline-extended\/","title":{"rendered":"Intersecretarial Group GTI-Bets has its work deadline extended"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Tuesday (22) brings news for the betting sector in Brazil. <strong>This is the extension of the duration of the Intersecretarial Group called GTI-Bets until September of this year.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ordinance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.in.gov.br\/web\/dou\/-\/portaria-conjunta-rfb\/spa-n-13-de-18-de-julho-de-2025-643352151\"><strong>(RFB\/SPA\/MF n\u00ba 13\/2025)<\/strong><\/a> published in today&#8217;s DOU is a joint process between the Ministry of Finance&#8217;s Prizes and Bets Secretariat (SPA\/MF) and the Federal Revenue Service.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ordinance,<a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/legislation-en\/2025\/01\/08\/secretariat-of-prizes-and-bets-and-federal-revenue-create-inter-secretariat-working-group\/\"> first published <\/a>in the Official Gazette of January 8th, established the creation of a working group, the GTI-Bets. <strong>Initially, the projected duration was six months<\/strong>. However, the ordinance itself provides for the possibility of extending this period, which was indeed the case. The GTI-Bets aims to monitor the behavior of the gaming and betting sector.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the work of GTI-Bets<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Composed of three members appointed by the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service&#8217;s Inspection Sub-Secretariat (RFB\/Sufis), the RFB&#8217;s General Coordination of Research and Investigation (Copei) and the Prizes and Betting Secretariat, <strong>the GTI-Bets group is responsible for monitoring the tax regularity of the gaming and betting sector in Brazil.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Furthermore, <strong>it monitors the authorization requirements of companies authorized to operate in the country<\/strong>. It&#8217;s worth noting that the regulated market in the country began on January 1, 2025.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, <strong>the group&#8217;s role is to help identify potential illegal activities by companies not authorized to operate in Brazil<\/strong>, thereby preventing companies that may be involved in money laundering and other crimes.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>GTI-Bets also aims to develop a proposal for a compliance program to regularize tax obligations<\/strong> for companies that operated prior to any authorization. It also aims to create and maintain a dedicated communication channel.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this process, information must be shared between the actions of each responsible body, helping to inform the RFB&#8217;s repressive inspection work.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">See the full ordinance:<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Published on: July 22, 2025 | Issue: 136 | Section: 1 | Page: 29<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Agency:<\/strong> <strong>Ministry of Treasury\/Special Secretariat of the Federal Revenue of Brazil<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">JOINT ORDER RFB\/SPA No. 13, OF JULY 18, 2025<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Extends the term of the Intersecretarial Group entitled GTI-Bets, established by Joint Ordinance RFB\/SPA No. 3, of January 6, 2025.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">THE SPECIAL SECRETARY OF THE BRAZILIAN FEDERAL REVENUE AND THE SECRETARY OF PRIZES AND BETS OF THE MINISTRY OF TREASURY, considering their statutory attributions and the Joint Ordinance RFB\/SPA No. 3, of January 6, 2025, published in the Official Gazette of the Union on January 8, 2025, resolves:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Art. 1 Joint Ordinance RFB\/SPA No. 3, of January 6, 2025, shall come into force with the following changes:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Art. 3\u00ba &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sole paragraph.
