He commented on the taxation of the sports <strong>betting sector<\/strong>. Minister of Finance, <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/legislation-en\/2023\/04\/04\/ministry-of-finance-informs-that-sports-betting-mp-will-be-ready-in-april\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fernando Haddad<\/a>, announced that the Federal Revenue expects to collect from R$ 12 billion to R$ 15 billion with the taxation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the secretary, the regulation of this sector is essential for the sake of &#8220;compliance&#8221;. \u201cWe need to be clear that this world of betting is not contaminating, let&#8217;s say, the world of sports. And all this requires regulation, a standardization that the sector itself demands&#8221;, said Guilherme Mello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the government member, the betting sector should become even more competitive and robust with regulation and taxation. \u201cFrom there you create a competitive, fair structure, where all actors will compete by the same rules. Obviously this will generate revenue, but much more than revenue, it will generate a much better structured market&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regulation of the betting sector should take place in April<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to note that the Ministry of Finance informed interested parties that the provisional measure (MP) for <a href=\"https:\/\/igamingbrazil.com\/en\/sports-betting-en\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"Sports Betting\">sports betting<\/a> will be ready in April. The MP is being prepared and has already had some details revealed by the minister, Fernando Haddad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technicians established that a rate of 18% to 20% will be applied on the GGR (Gross Gaming Revenue) of the companies. Today there is a forecast that products coming from another country by individuals, a gift, something that a friend of yours sent from another country, are exempt up to a certain value\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe problem is that some companies use this window of opportunity to bring a huge set of products that are not from individuals to individuals, despite being ready to do so, and they promote an environment of unfair competition with companies that pay their taxes, are installed here, generate jobs.
