Oddsgate is now a member of the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), one of the leading global bodies dedicated to integrity in sports betting.
The adhesion reaffirms the company‘s commitment to international compliance standards, as well as safety and responsible gaming, which are essential pillars for the sustainable development of the industry.
IBIA represents over 50 licensed operators, totaling over 125 brands and monitoring an annual volume of over US$300 billion in bets. Therefore, to join this trusted network, Oddsgate underwent a rigorous audit process. This process assessed everything from governance practices to integrity controls in operations and technology.
According to Óscar Madureira, Chief Legal Officer at Oddsgate, the platform’s role goes beyond technical support.
“Being part of IBIA is more than a seal. It is a natural extension of what we believe and practice every day: responsibility, transparency and consistency,” he said.
“We always consider that our role as a B2B platform goes beyond technical support. We know that, directly or indirectly, we also contribute to the perception and development of the industry as a whole. And, therefore, we take an active stance to promote good practices on all fronts.”
This is yet another achievement for the company, which recently received recognition at the SiGMA Awards Americas 2025 for its work with Brazilian operators, also obtained two more ISO certifications and intensified its educational fronts, both internally and with customers and partners.
Global overview: the impact of initiatives like IBIA
According to the association’s own projections, the regulated sports betting market is expected to reach US$94 billion in global gross revenue (GGR) by 2024, with 65% of this total (US$61 billion) generated online. By 2028, the estimate is US$132 billion in GGR, with more than 70% (US$93 billion) coming from digital.
Football is the main driver of growth: it is estimated to account for 56% of global GGR in 2024, totaling US$53 billion. And, between 2017 and 2023, 99.96% of the events monitored by IBIA showed no signs of manipulation, proving the robustness of its irregularity detection system.
In Brazil, which is considered a highly relevant market for Oddsgate, the expectation is that onshore GGR will reach US$2.8 billion by 2028, provided that public policies do not limit the development of the sector. Otherwise, the diversion of up to US$18 billion per year to offshore operators could compromise revenue collection and control of the ecosystem.
About Oddsgate
For Oddsgate, integrity begins with product architecture and extends throughout the user journey. The company’s commissioned study, Gate to 2050, already anticipated this vision: the future of the industry will increasingly be shaped by technology applied to responsibility.
“As the industry grows, so does our responsibility to protect users, and this requires continuous action,” said Óscar. “We are aware of the risks, but even more so of the solutions. With technology, training and international cooperation, we can make safe gambling the norm, not the exception.”
According to the study, the next generation of platforms will be equipped with real-time monitoring systems capable of identifying risky behavior patterns, triggering automated interventions and collaborating with mental health experts.
Technologies such as RegTech and blockchain will play a decisive role in compliance, simplifying audits and strengthening the traceability of operations.
