The X Games, in collaboration with Alt Sports Data, are starting to use sports betting at their events. Since 1995, the event created by ESPN has focused on extreme sports such as skateboarding and BMX.

Todd Ballard, co-founder and CMO of Alt Sports Data, said: “This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to redefine fan engagement in some of the most engaging and exciting sports in the world.

X Games is the most iconic brand within the action sports community. Additionally, we are excited to bring innovative betting markets to your passionate fan base.

By integrating sports betting, we aim to create deeper connections, attract new audiences and drive continued growth.”

Following the majority sale of ESPN in 2022 to MSP Sports Capital, which also owns the McLaren Racing team, the new management has therefore introduced important transformations.

Jeff Moorad, director of MSP Sports Capital and president of the X Games, revealed plans for 2026 that are inspired by Formula 1. Therefore, these changes aim to explore new commercial opportunities, in addition to ensuring a sustainable future for the athletes involved.

Audience records

Last year, the X Games recorded a 113% increase in streaming audiences and 2.4 million new followers on social media.

Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games, commented: “The passion fans have for their favorite extreme sports stars rivals that of any other sport. At X Games, we are committed to creating innovative ways for fans to express and deepen that passion .

Our partnership with Alt Sports marks an exciting step forward, giving the extreme sports community a new way to engage with their favorite athletes and events. All of this, through sports betting – a resource that has been essential for other professional sports.”
