Sportradar expands its partnership with the NBA this season with the launch of a series of innovative fan engagement solutions. Everything to improve the experience and passion of the league’s more than 2 billion followers around the world.

These new products mark the next stage in the evolution of basketball consumption. They will benefit:

  • The NBA itself
  • Bookmakers
  • Media Partners

With its Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, Sportradar launches a suite of next-generation products for the NBA. All official league content will be used, including skeleton tracking data.

Sportradar processes hundreds of thousands of data points from each game. This enables agile product development that redefines fan engagement standards. In addition, it is possible to create new sources of revenue for the NBA, its partners and customers.

Strategy used

  • Virtualized Live Match Tracker: This tool uses computer vision to transform official real-time NBA data into 3D visualizations, presented in a hyper-personalized stream, with adjustable viewing angles. This provides an immersive experience that keeps fans connected to the betting app while providing live betting opportunities.
  • 4Sight Streaming: Initially launched for tennis and now available for basketball. 4Sight Streaming generates animated overlays and actionable insights by processing an unmatched volume of detailed data. Thus, the solution offers an enriched viewing experience, capable of predicting likely outcomes of a game, allowing fans to place bets in real time with more confidence.
  • Advanced NBA Visualizations: With interactive graphics and animations, these visualizations utilize real-time skeleton tracking data. They then create engaging content, with 3D animations, heat maps and player performance metrics, enhancing game analysis and offering dynamic support for media coverage of the action on the court.
  • emBET: Following its successful launch on NBA League Pass earlier this year, emBET now allows bettors to monitor their bets in real time. Additionally, it is available on a range of devices, including smart TVs and Android devices, expanding opportunities for an interactive viewing and betting experience.

Eric Conrad, EVP of Rights & Strategic Partnerships – US & Latam at Sportradar, said: “Sportradar is committed to strengthening our long-standing partnership with the NBA.”

“At the same time, the company supports sports betting operators and media companies to capitalize on the global popularity of the world’s biggest basketball league. Using deep data AI will change the way fans interact with the NBA,” concluded.
