Ordinance No. 67/2024, published by Lottopar, establishes strict rules for fixed-odd betting operators licensed in Paraná. These guidelines are essential to ensure that responsible gaming practices are strictly followed.

Among the rules, the prohibition of registration and participation in betting by people who may influence the outcome of sporting events stands out.

Prohibitions for athletes and others involved in sports

According to article 24 of the Ordinance, Lottopar expressly prohibits anyone with influence on the outcome of sporting events, such as athletes, managers, coaches, referees and assistants, from participating in betting on authorized websites.

Furthermore, the prohibition extends to businesspeople, agents, members of technical committees, members of administrative or supervisory bodies of entities organizing competitions and those responsible for these entities.

Fabio Veiga, Operations Director at Lottopar, highlighted the importance of these measures: “With these actions, we aim for a safe and responsible environment within sports betting in Paraná.

Therefore, Lottopar, as a supervisory body, determines that regulated operators must have the means to control compliance with the prohibitions established in the Ordinance.”

FIFA rules and Lottopar integrity guarantee

Lottopar adopts these measures to ensure that betting takes place in a manipulation-free environment. In this way, respecting current legislation and following best international practices.

FIFA also imposes similar rules to protect the integrity of football. According to article 26 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, players, referees, agents and other people involved in football are prohibited from participating in betting.

Failure to comply with these rules can result in fines of up to 100,000 Swiss francs (around R$630,000). Additionally, there is the risk of suspension and ban from football for up to three years.
