BetMGM and Revolutionary Racing Kentucky (RRKY) have announced a new market access agreement that allows BetMGM to bring its retail and online sports betting platform to Kentucky when legal betting launches in the state.
The companies will open a 5,200 square foot retail BetMGM Sportsbook at Sandy’s Racing & Gaming.
BetMGM will offer online sports betting capabilities once Kentucky’s regulated market opens, pending licensing and regulatory approval.
Construction of Kentucky’s first horse racing track and equestrian center on 182 acres adjacent to Sandy’s is scheduled for racing in 2025.
The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission (KHRC) has approved the launch of sports betting starting September 7th, when the NFL season begins.
Betting will start at face-to-face locations. Mobile operations will begin on September 28th.
BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said: “Kentucky has a rich history in the sport and a passionate fan base.”
“Revolutionary Racing is an ideal partner, allowing us to provide a fun and responsible gaming experience while investing in the state through job creation and tax revenue,” added Greenblatt.
Revolutionary Racing CEO Prentice Salter added: “We promised to bring a world class facility to Ashland and we wanted a world class partner for online sports betting across the state and in our sports betting lounge. We achieved this with BetMGM .”
