Galera.bet joins the IBIA sports betting integrity body (1)

Galera.bet, the sports betting brand of Match Time Solutions BV, is now part of IBIA – International Association for Integrity in Betting.

The operator’s main focus is Brazil, and this decision complies with the regulatory parameters of the Provisional Measure recently published in the country, according to which operators must adhere to an international sports integrity inspection body.

Galera.bet is the official sponsor of Serie A of the Brazilian Football Championship and the Brazilian Basketball Confederation.

The operator joins the nearly 50 companies and more than 125 leading sports betting brands that are already part of the IBIA, further strengthening the entity’s position as the leading operator-led body focused on gambling integrity worldwide.

IBIA announced its expansion in Brazil earlier this year, ahead of long-awaited market regulation.

The Brazilian government’s Provisional Measure, published on July 25, includes the requirement that licensed operators be part of an international body for monitoring sports integrity.

According to H2 Gambling Capital – the leading independent authority on global market data in this industry – it is estimated that IBIA member brands already represent over 60% of the Brazilian online gambling market.

The market leadership position should allow IBIA to provide accurate analysis and forceful and effective action against betting-related fraud, taking action against match-fixing in Brazil.

Galera.bet is committed to working in partnership with the IBIA to prevent and detect corruption in sport and offer a reliable product to its customers.

Marcos Sabiá, CEO ofgalley.bet, said: “We are honored to work with IBIA and to be able to reinforce our purpose of developing business with integrity as a priority”.

“We believe that collaboration between partners is extremely important to protect the integrity of sports and betting markets against corruption. We hope this is the beginning of a long and successful partnership”, says Sabiá.

Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, also talks about the partnership: “We embrace Galeda.bet’s choice to be part of IBIA, which further strengthens IBIA’s position before the opening of the Brazilian market”.

“This decision recognizes the unique benefits of IBIA’s health monitoring network and its ability to track users’ activities, rather than just analyzing variations in the odds offered by websites.”

“No one else provides access to this data. This involves covering over $137 billion in annual sports betting volume, making IBIA the largest and most effective integrity network,” added Ali.

IBIA is a non-profit entity that has no competition conflicts with providing commercial services to other sectors and is managed by operators for operators, aiming to protect regulated sports betting markets against match-fixing.

IBIA’s global monitoring network is a highly effective anti-corruption tool, detecting and reporting suspicious activity in regulated betting markets around the world.

Through the IBIA monitoring network, it is possible to track transactional activities linked to individual customer accounts.

Sports betting operators who act responsibly have an interest in combating match-fixing, and IBIA intends to be at the forefront of this preventive action in Brazil.

As part of this process, IBIA signed a sports betting integrity protection agreement with the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR).

IBIA will provide integrity services to its licensed members in Brazil and is open to membership requests from other operators wishing to operate in this and other markets.

To join the body, all IBIA members undergo a rigorous due diligence process and commit to its code of conduct.

The association recently released its second-quarter health report, with details of 50 alerts reported in this period.

The IBIA also sent 268 alerts to the authorities in 2022, with successful sporting or criminal sanctions against clubs, referees and players involved in suspicious activities in their games.
