Parimatch: Zelenskyy calls for sanctions review in response to public petition

The official response came this Tuesday, the 25th. Zelenskyy not only addressed the petition itself, but also laid out a practical approach for the next steps.

He instructed Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, along with the Interdepartmental Working Group on Implementation of State Sanctions Policy, to conduct a reassessment of the reasons behind the imposition of the Ukrainian sanctions regime on Parimatch.

According to a company note, the president “demonstrated his genuine concern for Ukrainian companies in the midst of war”.

Thus, highlighting the vital role of the business community in contributing taxes, creating jobs and promoting an orderly market, often in a challenging environment.

“This decision also publicly reaffirms the president’s stated commitment to listening to the voice of the people. And, recognize the petition as a democratic means of active engagement with government decisions,” added Parimatch.

Parimatch believes the review will result in sanctions being lifted

The public response to the petition and the initiated review is a step that shows the “strength and courage behind the president’s commitment to transparent and fair decisions.”

“These qualities are inherent in a democratic country where the rule of law, responsibility and objectivity prevail.

At the same time, this is a powerful signal to the market and the European community that sanctions are a working tool to combat Russian aggression.”

In addition, Parimatch’s official statement emphasized the commitment to fully cooperate with the authorities. And, provide all the information required by the investigation.

We have no doubt that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will react and take all necessary measures to establish justice.

We thank all concerned Ukrainians who have joined this petition for their trust and continue to stand up for the truth. We are with Ukraine”, says the note.
