Betfair launches Advantage Club and takes fans to visit Ronaldo's home

Who has never dreamed of meeting a great idol up close? With the aim of offering unique experiences – those that money cannot buy – Betfair has created its new Advantage Club. The first ones drawn to experience this opportunity were Ricardo Demarch and José Lucas de Oliveira Gregorio, who had the opportunity to visit the home of five-time world champion and Betfair ambassador Ronaldo Nazário.

According to the bookmaker, the idea is to create more and more ways to reward its customers, either with promotions within the site or unique experiences for fans. “I joined the Betfair advantage club to win and look where I am today!”, celebrated José Lucas during the experience.

The fans were received by Ronaldo at his home in São Paulo. The Betfair ambassador showed all his trophies, including the two Golden Balls for the best player in the world won in 1997 and 2002. Ronaldo also shared with the members of Clube de Vantagens stories of his career, inspirations he had on the field – and they even had time for a game of pool.

Ricardo, a gremist, says he has always been a fan of the Phenomenon, even though he has never played for the team from Rio Grande do Sul. “He was the player you couldn’t root against!”, he said. He also commented that he remembers Ronaldo’s games in his early career for Cruzeiro and that he followed all the penta games in 2002 with his family.

José Lucas looks at the Betfair ambassador in an inspiring way. “His story as a player and as a person is inspiring to me. His career was a successful case”, he said. Lucas even commented on how beautiful it was to see the way Ronaldo dribbled while changing direction on the pitch.

“Being able to hold the Ballon d’Or he won really impressed me,” said Ricardo. To close the first Betfair Advantage Club experience on a high note, Ricardo and José Lucas were presented with personalized Betfair balls autographed by Ronaldo.
