Playing.io sponsored a charity football game featuring a range of Brazilian football stars and celebrities. Playing.io is a blockchain betting site recently launched in Brazil, with several gaming and sports betting options.
Brazil is a fast growing betting market and Playing.io aims to become a leading global online betting company. As part of the sponsorship, the bookmaker promised to convert each ticket sold into a kilo of food to be donated to the Tottenham Food Bank.
The game took place at Dagenham on Monday of this week. Even though the professional football season has just come to an end, there has been no rest for some of football’s biggest stars.
One of the teams had Emerson Royal as captain, a player from Tottenham Hotspur. However, the Premier League star’s team lost 8-5 to the team led by influencer Luva de Pedreiro. The game resulted in 5,000 kilos of food being donated to Tottenham’s food bank.
In attendance were: Emerson Royal (Tottenham Hotspur); Richarlison (Tottenham); Edu Gaspar (Arsenal Sporting Director); Luigi Gaspar (Watford); Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa); Fernandinho (Sheffield United); Dennis (Nottingham Forest). On the celebrity side: Negrete, Big G, Felipe Araujo and Luva de Pedreiro were also playing.
Speaking about the event, Richard Hogg, CEO of playing.io, said he was “thrilled to see fans and celebrities come together for such an important cause”, and said the company would continue to look at how it can help serve local communities.
