The National Futsal League (LNF) announced its merger with the Associação Brasileira de Defesa da Integrida do Esporte (Abradie), a non-profit organization created to protect the integrity of Brazilian sport. The main futsal competition in Brazil now joins the National Basketball League (LNB) as the first two Brazilian sports entities to join the association.
Bringing together the main entities of sport, the betting industry, legislators, athletes and representatives of the sports industry, Abradie’s objective is to combat the threat of match-fixing in sporting events and betting-related corruption.
The LNF will bring its expertise and experience to bear on queries on current integrity measures related to sports betting. The intention is to ensure that the rules are robust and also allow the League to carry out educational activities with its athletes, referees and all people involved with the sport.
Director of the National Football League evaluates new partnership
“The LNF is honored to participate in this important moment for national sport and, we are sure, that Abradie will be of fundamental importance for the construction of a positive path to combat match-fixing and corruption in sport”, said the executive director from LNF, Norberto Mello.
“We understand that this is the moment to show the strength and seriousness of the institutions that manage and promote sport in our country, count on us on this journey”, he added.
The National Futsal and Basketball Leagues join the founding members of ABRADIE: Genius Sports, Entain, Rei Do Pitaco, Bichara e Motta and Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados (FYMSA).
Other betting industry organizations
Recently launched, Abradie was the first Brazilian organization to approach the betting business. However, two other organizations, the National Association of Games and Lotteries (ANJL) and the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR), were created in recent days.
