“Super Bowl LVII was a record event,” said GeoComply co-founder and CEO Anna Sainsbury. “The GeoComply data reveals that Americans’ interest in legally betting on the Super Bowl has never been higher. It also showed that many fans at State Farm Stadium have embraced their newfound ability to bet while watching the game in person.”
GeoComply added that the event was also a top target for online criminals looking to capitalize on increased consumer interest, with the group’s technology detecting and blocking more than 140,000 fraud attempts in the week leading up to the match.
“It’s no secret that online fraud is a growing concern across all forms of e-commerce,” added Sainsbury. “Online sports betting can be a target for fraud, but as every bettor must verify their location, the industry has the data to stop it before it starts. GeoComply is proud to be a cybersecurity asset to the industry” , added Sainsbury.
