Former player Zé Roberto joins Betsson's team of ambassadors

Betsson has announced former Brazilian soccer player Zé Roberto as its new global ambassador. Zé Roberto, who played more than 80 games for the Brazilian national team, signed a three-year contract with all the brands in the Betsson Group’s portfolio.

“Despite hanging up his boots, the former player remains an icon and role model for fans. His passion for the sport and for Brazil is part of the synergy of the partnership with Betsson.

Recently, the former player revealed that he has become Betsson’s newest odds coach through a video entitled “Multiverso de Zé Roberto”. The partnership contemplates the licensing of the global use of the player’s image for all the group’s brands and the designation of ‘Brand Ambassador’, as well as social media posts and in-person activities, including photo shoots and fan meetings.

“Zé Roberto is the best strategic partner we could think of to represent and increase the awareness of our brand in Brazil”, said Andrea Rossi, Commercial Director of the Betsson Group for Southern Europe and Latin America.

“At the same time, given that he is known worldwide, we negotiated a multi-brand agreement, which allows the Betsson Group to use Zé Roberto’s prestige to promote our brands globally.”

Retired in 2017 at age 43, Zé Roberto won two Copa América titles and two Confederations Cups with the Brazilian national team, in addition to playing for German clubs Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen. He also played for Real Madrid in Spain, as well as Grêmio, Portuguesa, Santos and Palmeiras in Brazil.
