FanDuel opens first Major League Soccer stadium bookmaker

The first stadium bookmaker for Major League Soccer (MLS), the top football league in the United States, has opened its doors at Audi Field as part of a partnership between FanDuel and DC United.

FanDuel Sportsbook has three betting spaces, 18 self-service kiosks, 47 HD TVs and two big screens. In addition, fans will have an “insider view” of the field to watch DC United games and any other sporting events.

The bookmaker, which can be accessed through gate A of Audi Field, offers full bar and kitchen services. FanDuel has agreed to a multi-year partnership with DC United in 2020, in a deal that allowed the sports betting operator to become the football team’s official betting sponsor.

The bookmaker at Audi Field was originally scheduled to open in 2021 before being delayed as it awaited license approval by Washington D.C. authorities.

DC United’s stadium sports bookmaker is the third in the District of Columbia, with Caesars’ Capital One Arena betting service operating since 2020 and BetMGM’s Nationals Park bookmaker operating since early 2022.

The store at Audi Field is FanDuel’s second sports arena sportsbook, after opening the first at the Phoenix Footprint Center in September 2021.

FanDuel’s performance is growing in the New York betting market

The overall New York market saw a 34% drop in June, however FanDuel saw business improve with its share of the New York market rising from 48% in March this year.
