Sports technology company Sportradar has launched a new feature that provides bookmakers with a platform where they can report suspicious betting activity. Using technology from the company’s Integrity Services, this new feature gives bookmakers free access to global match-fixing trends.
The provider’s new platform, titled ‘Sportradar Integrity Exchange’, aims to enhance the company’s efforts to protect sports betting markets by involving bookmakers in the operation. Sportradar says this new channel will help in the global fight against match-fixing and support global integrity investigations.
Sportradar develops strategy to combat match-fixing
In its first joint sports integrity action with betting companies, Sportradar established a four-point plan. This planning includes: establishing a two-way channel to exchange information and raise integrity-related issues.
In addition, the strategy encompasses creating unique data-driven intelligence in global match-fixing situations; establish an onboarding session that details access to online education tools; providing an annual report that presents global match-fixing trends and regional market suspicions.
Sportradar Integrity Services Managing Director Andreas Krannich said: “We are inviting bookmakers to strengthen their contribution to the fight against match-fixing. The Sportradar Integrity Exchange is a vital part of our integrity vision for dealing with match-fixing.”
Krannich added: “and follows the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS) betting monitoring system for sports organizations that we made for free last year. It means we can deal with corruption from different aspects of the industry – it’s the other side of the same coin and it’s the next step in our strategy to tackle the growing problem of earnings manipulation.”
In 2021, the company’s integrity unit detected 903 suspicious matches, which led to the application of 65 sanctions based on supplier integrity data.
