The Uruguayan Football Association (AUF) signed an agreement with Sportradar to implement a monitoring system to detect possible manipulation of matches and results.

This system is already operating in the First Professional Division and the Second Professional Division, under an agreement the company signed with FIFA and CONMEBOL in 2017.

The agreement seeks to extend the protected tournaments to the Third Division and Under-19, important categories for the generation of future talent in Uruguay.

The risk of competitions with less public exposure has increased globally and in the region; likewise, the effects of the pandemic have hit the entire world hard, encouraging the emergence of this problem.

In this sense, Sportradar will collaborate with the AUF to combat game manipulation, providing its sports betting fraud detection tool.

About AUF

The Uruguayan Football Association is the governing body of football in Uruguay. It was founded in 1900 as the Football League of the Uruguayan Association, and affiliated with FIFA in 1923.

It is a founding ‘member’ of CONMEBOL and is in charge of the national men’s and women’s teams, as well as the Uruguayan soccer league system.

The AUF organizes the national soccer tournament, two professional divisions (First Division and Second Division) and the third category (Second Amateur Division), involving amateur teams from the metropolitan area of Montevideo.

The amateur clubs in the rest of the country are organized by the Inland Football Organization (OFI), a federation affiliated with the AUF, but independently.
