FanDuel becomes the first bookmaker authorized by the WTA

FanDuel was announced this week as the first gaming venue authorized by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in North America, South America and Central America. The new deal grants WTA fans access to the company’s daily sports betting and fantasy sports products.

In addition, this is the first time that a female sport will be featured in video on its digital platforms and betting solution. In addition, FanDuel will be able to exploit the association’s trademarks as well as Stats Perform’s official WTA Tour score data.

In turn, this integration will allow tennis fans in the Americas to participate in the growing opportunities for involvement around fantasy sports.

WTA President Micky Lawler stated: “The WTA is pleased to welcome FanDuel as its first authorized gaming partner. FanDuel is a top destination for sports fans and this relationship will contribute to the growth of our fan base.”

Lawler added: “This milestone not only addresses the growing demand from fans for a more personalized sporting experience, but also paves the way for us to take a proactive role in managing the responsible gaming practices that we want to promote. Our priority is to provide our fans with more opportunities to engage with the sport in a fun and safe way.”

Fanduel CEO celebrates agreement with women’s tennis organization

Amy Howe, President and Interim CEO of FanDuel Group, said: “We are incredibly proud of our commitment to supporting women in sports and we are continually looking for new ways to raise awareness of athletes, teams and all women in sports.”

Amy Howe added: “Aligning with the WTA – the global leader in women’s professional sports – is in line with our overall mission to raise the profile of talented women in sports. We are delighted to partner with such a prestigious organization.”

Powered by WTA sponsorship sales agency CSM, the agreement with FanDuel represents the association’s latest innovation to foster exposure to women’s tennis. Following the announcement of Stats Perform’s data integration in November, FanDuel will represent the next evolution of trusted betting products for WTA fans.

“Our platforms are now a destination for WTA content and highlights, which significantly enrich the sports betting experience while continuing to expand our media and content capabilities,” concluded Howe.

As part of the new strategic partnership, FanDuel will work closely with the WTA to promote safe and responsible gambling. Demonstrating its commitment to promoting responsible gaming and the availability of prevention, treatment and recovery resources, the WTA has joined the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG).
